As much as my allergies are killing me, the flowering trees are beautiful.
If all is going well on this spring break of mine (I am scheduling this post), I am off finding more trees to take pictures of, because I think they make neat pictures.

Natalie 20 feet up in the air!
When we went to the St. Patrick's Festival in Dublin, Natalie had to try the Rope-a-phobia.
I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story!
For anyone that is wondering we were there early in the day, and luckily missed the violence that occured later in the day.

Easter Egg Hunt Kindergarten Style
On Wednesday DJ wasn't feeling too well, running a slight fever, coughing, runny nose etc. So I took Thursday off so I could take him to the doctor.
We lucked out and were able to get him an appointment on base (for the first time in 2 years!) at 8:20. Turns out he had a bad allergy attack, so he wasn't contagious. So I called to see if they wanted me to go into work for a half day, was told no they had it covered.
DJ and I then hung out for the rest of the morning, then we headed to school, for his school easter egg hunt. (His only worry about being sick, he even asked the Dr. if he was ok to go to it!)
I really enjoyed the opportunity to be a "mom" for the day, instead of being a mom/teacher who had to hurry up and get back to class.
I got to help "hide"/scatter the eggs....
We had the entire field behind the school covered. Good thing since there were three classes of kindergartners waiting to get out there and get some eggs!
Plus I got a chance to take lots of pictures (you can go and see pictures of Princess Brooklyn that I posted that afternoon!)

$100 for tickets
$40 for gas
$20 for food
The look on the kids faces? Priceless
The weekend of the Kobalt 500 I was lucky enough to find last minute tickets to the race. A family in Atlanta could not attend at the last minute and had tickets that they had gotten at a really good deal. They listed them on craigslist, I called really figuring they would be gone, but the gal still had them, and since I was the first person to say I would come get them, I got them. At a steal, and even better of a steal than advertised due to the fact that I said something about Jerry having to work the day of the race on base.
$100 a seat tickets, that I picked up for $100 total. The only catch was that I had to drive to north Atlanta to pick them up. I thought I would never get there! lol Only because I had never been out north of Atlanta on I-85 before, so I wasn't sure what I was looking for.
Sunday morning the kids and I got up early, packed up lunches and headed north, arriving at the track just in time for the Twitter meetup put on by Jeff Gluck, meaning we got to meet Landon Cassil, which was pretty neat. DJ wouldnt have his picture done with the Sprint Cup girl so I had to. lol
We really had a great time, DJ even managed to get a nap in during the race (I rented the scanner because they gave you a second set of headphones, which he used like ear defenders).
Did I mention we had great seats?
Because we did, we really really did!
Traffic coming home wasn't all that bad either, we managed to get out of the race, and home in under 2 hours, so no complaints from me! (Of course I parked off property, but I don't think it would have been any worse parking on property!)

Snow Day 2
We woke up the morning after the snow storm to this beautiful sight.
Yes I can say its beautiful, because it doesn't happen all that often here, I understand that!
But it really was a sight to behold.

Quote of the day....
“What is the quality of your intent?
Certain people have a way of saying things that shake us at the core. Even when the words do not seem harsh or offensive, the impact is shattering. What we could be experiencing is the intent behind the words. When we intend to do good, we do. When we intend to do harm, it happens. What each of us must come to realize is that our intent always comes through. We cannot sugarcoat the feelings in our heart of hearts. The emotion is the energy that motivates. We cannot ignore what we really want to create. We should be honest and do it the way we feel it. What we owe to ourselves and everyone around is to examine the reasons of our true intent.
My intent will be evident in the results.”
Lynn4445 Thurgood Marshall quotes

Respect
Respect between adults should always be a given.
It must however be a mutual respect.
Once that respect is lost, it can be lost forever.
Adults should always speak to one another the way that they wish to be spoken to.
The tone in which you speak to another adult can cost you their respect, and once you have lost their respect it may/will take you a long time to gain it back.
The adults may still have to respect the position that you hold, but they do not have to respect you as a person.
Talk to adults as a peer, not as a underling that knows nothing.
Talk to adults as adults not as children that need to be scolded.
Talk to adults as humans who have feelings, not as robots that do not.
Talk to adults as equals, some have just as much life experience as you do, some have more.

Please keep Brooklyn and Kate in your thoughts and prayers
Time seems to be zooming by lately, and every time I think I am going to post to the blog, life gets in the way. I only seem to make an effort when I am needing help in praying. I will try to do more posting in the near future, we start baseball this week with DJ so I should have more to write about! ;)
But for now, I am posting asking for all of the prayers and positive thoughts that you have to be sent to two very special and important families.
First of all is Brooklyn and her family. Brooklyn is in DJ's kindergarten class. Last month she had a severe asthma attack that landed her in the hospital and on a ventilator for 13 days, as well as earned her a trip to the big Children's Hospital in Alabama. Right now Brooklyn is in Atlanta undergoing physical therapy to help her overcome the difficulties that she incurred while on the ventilator. Please pray for her and her family, as this whole experience is very expensive and they are currently away from their older son, who is staying locally so he can attend school.
We are collecting soda can tabs for Brooklyn's family to help pay for the expenses that they have in conjunction with staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta. If you would like to donate any please contact me and I will tell you where to send them! Thanks!
The second family is my friend Kate's. Kate (katesaid.wordpress.com) had a baby boy a week or so ago, then developed a bad infection that has caused her to have to undergo at least 3 surgeries to remove the infection, and has been sedated since. They are starting to wean her off the sedation to see how she does, but she still needs all of our prayers and thoughts! Please keep baby Isaac in your prayers as he is still in the hospital where Kate delivered him with jaundice. Please add Kate's husband Willem, older children Emily and Jacob, parents, sisters and friend Gretchen to your prayers to help them stay strong while waiting on Kate to heal and get home.
