Old Clinton War Days

Sunday afternoon we went to Clinton Ga, for a Civil War Reenactment of the Battle of Griswold. It was a pretty neat day for all of us (except Kelsey who was with a friend).

I heart Faces~~Hats

This week at I Heart Faces, the contest is all about hats. As soon as I saw this weeks contest I knew which two pictures I wanted to use. These are from right after my trip to Dublin in 05, for our Girls Weekend.

What kind of tree is this?

Does anyone know what kind of a tree this is? It is down the road from the house along one of our walking routes. Jerry doesn't know, and I can't find it online. The tree is HUGE, probably 70 feet tall if not taller and just absolutely beautiful. It is down in a ravine, with a barbed wire fence around it so I can't get much closer to even the trunk to take a better picture of the trunk.

This is just the lower 1/3 of the tree, it goes down probably another 5 feet below where the picture cuts off, and then WAY WAY WAY up from there.

Field Day/May Day Fun!

Fun with DJ's class at the field day/May Day celebration on Friday. These are mostly pictures from when the pre-k class came back out in the afternoon to finish spending their tickets. I think that everyone had a great time, and we raised a great deal of money for our Relay For Life team! Which of course means that we raised a great deal of money for cancer patients, and research!

Have I mentioned how much we are enjoying living out here? We live in a quiet rural community. The girls have friends close by, but our closest neighbor is about 1/10th of a mile from the house. We have had to get used to driving a distance to get to the grocery, versus the 2 miles it was to Walmart, and its not the best grocery store in the world. Other than that I don't think we can complain about living out here.

Jerry saw this little guy between his feet the other night on our walk around the neighborhood. At first glance he thought he was a baby snake, then he saw that he was a lizard. DJ wanted him for a pet, but we nixed that idea.
