UGA

Now I have lived in SEC territory long enough to root for SEC teams, especially since PAC-10 teams get no love in the Southeast. The ONLY PAC-10 game that we get to see is the ASU vs UGA game. So its only natural that I root for UGA, as long as they are NOT playing ASU. :) Kelsey really wanted to go to the game with me on Saturday, but I was mean, and didn't take her (she probably would have tried to jump out of the truck driving down frat row!)

I hope you have enjoyed my pictures from the game this weekend! I had a great time. Athens is a beautiful city, but man it has a LOT of hills.

Dear President Obama

Dear President Obama, and the rest of the higher ups who think this is a good idea!

I understand the need for longer days, or longer school years, so that our students can recieve better educations, but if you want to do this you had better figure out where you plan to come up with the money to pay us to do it!

You are taking away our pay, Georgia has already cut 3 days out of our school year that by the way I will be working on lessons and grading papers, and now you want to take away our summers? What are we supposed to work for free? I know that in order to do this job, we do it because we have a passion for it, but give me a break, we already tend to put in 50-60 hour weeks for 36 weeks for garbage pay compared to what peers that have the same amount of education in other fields make!

I am so tired of all of the cuts to education! NO WHERE in this article does it say where the President and the Education Secretary think they are going to find the money to pay us to do this. It quotes a cost of at least $1,300 per student to run a pilot program up north. Trust me, the Govenor down here would just expect us to do it for free! Or at least thats the way it seems. People need to wake up and smell the coffee, or the absolute failure of the government to do right by our children.

I Heart Faces Blue

From Our life as an Air Force Family

I haven't participated in the I heart faces weekly themes since school started, just haven't had the time. I didn't have the time this week either, but I love this picture of DJ and thought it would work. :)

Head on over to http://iheartfaces.blogspot.com/ and check out all of the entries this week!

Twiggs County Pioneer Days

Saturday was the Twiggs County Pioneer Days Celebration in honor of the county's 200th birthday. Since I had a ticket to go to the ASU @UGA game, I didn't stay very long, probably about an hour. Natalie stayed the entire day, and Kelsey stayed several hours, both of them "helping" the county youth outreach program director (not sure if thats her real title, but thats the best description of what she does, she ran the "Shine Girls" program that the girls attended this summer.)

Jerry enjoyed the car show!
