Elijay Apple Festival

So I have heard for a couple of months now about this Apple Festival up in the mountains north of Atlanta, almost to the Tennessee line. I have wanted to go since first hearing about it, and knew that the weekend would be a good weekend to make the long drive since we have three days off this week for fall break. The only draw back was that Friday was homecoming, so we were out until late. The kids and I got up and were on the road about 10, with a quick trip to the base for gas and breakfast, we headed north. It took us about 3 hours to get to Elijay, but we had a great time.

The Apple Festival is held on the Lion's Club Fairgrounds, and the entire thing is filled with craft booths. Lots of fried fair food, lots of neat things to look at. Wish I would have had a ton of money, so I could have purchased everything that I saw that I liked. :)

The view of the river as we walked up/down to the festival. It was a cloudy, misty day, but no rain.

This Lynx was a member of the Elijay Wildlife Refuge, who had several of their animals there.

This adorable baby (19 yo baby) was found when she was a baby by Tennesse DNR, poachers had killed her momma, and took out her claws.

Besides seeing the animals, we threw pingpong balls to be able to take home our own animals (goldfish, who are still living believe it or not).

Trying to win a bunny, why, I do not know, but they really wanted to win a bunny. Cassidi has a million in a hutch, but they all wanted to win a bunny.

I promise that there are many more pictures, to include DJ being a cowboy. :) I will share more later. :)
