Nature pictures from our walks
DJ and I have been doing a lot of evening walks, mostly looking for the red headed woodpecker that lives down by the creek. So I thought I would do a series of posts sharing some of the beauty found in our little part of the world. If you saw where we live you would never think that one could find these pictures, within a block or two of our house.

Bulletin Boards
Here is the start of the bulletin boards. :)
I forgot to get a picture of the one out side my door, hopefully I will remember tomorrow.

Kelsey's pastels
These are some of the pastel drawings that Kelsey has done over the summer.
Reflections on a lake:
My wedding day based off a picture of the two of us
But I want to know where I got the honking nose at!
Just a tree

The day of the DJ
We spent yesterday doing pretty much whatever the birthday boy wanted (within reason).
His first request upon waking up was to open presents
His bear is part of the Kohls cares for kids, he also got the book, Baby Bear baby bear, what do you see that we read 8 times. LOL
His request for the day was to go to the Airplane Museum
He wanted to now why there was an astronaut at the museum
Even his new baby bear had to go with us
Then we went out to the river on base. On our way down there we saw a brand new baby deer on the side of the road. So new it was barely walking. Of course the camera was in the clear back of the trailblazer, and by the time the girls got it, the fawn had stumbled off.
But we did get a couple of other wildlife pictures.
This guy was HUGE
See, thats Jerry's hand
Once we got home there was cake, that the girls made.
All in all, a good day was had.

"Mini Katrina Victims still need help"
I saw this on CNN's I-reporter, and it hits home. Especially given how lucky my extended family was to not be severely effected by the flooding.
Please remember to keep all of those effected by the flooding in the midwest in your thoughts and prayers. They are still struggling to recover, and already the media has forgotten about them, because they aren't up in arms blaming everyone but themselves and mother nature for what happened to the area.
