900,000 Vets go Hungry, Over 53,000 in Georgia

Explain this to 53,500 Georgia Veterans....On Friday, unless Congress acts (which would be an exception, not a norm), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, or food stamps, will be cut for as many as 900,000 veterans and their families, according to a study by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Many of those who served this nation in uniform, but are facing tough economic times, will find it that much harder to feed their families.

How is this even a debate? How is it that men and women who served in uniform get smeared as lazy and unmotivated to work, as soon as they need help feeding their families by using food stamps?

400,000 Veterans told to sit and wait and wait....

More than 400,000 claims from the nation's warriors have been left untouched for more than four months in the offices of the Department of Veterans Affairs, it has been revealed. And it's not even the fault of the government shutdown - the number actually went down during the 16 days that Washington stood nearly idle. The latest figure, from last Friday, stands at 411,704,

The Wall Street Journal reports. These are claims that were filed before June 15.
