How I spent my afternoon:










Please ignore the fact that I have absolutely no makeup on.





I have an interview tomorrow for a 5th grade position here in town. I am not getting my hopes up, because I am sure the good old boy network is in full force, but at least it is an interview.

Yesterday I got a new pet, if you missed yesterdays post about the party and didnt know this already. She is a Quaker Parrot, and very sweet and loveable already.

Today is DJ's 3rd birthday. :) I am happy and sad all in one, because it is the last time that one of my babies will turn 3. When I asked DJ what he wanted to do today he said the beach, then he said the zoo. But it was too hot here today to try either of those things. ;) So we made a deal to drive down to Destin to go out to lunch. When given the choices down there for lunch he said he wanted to go have lunch with the Alligators (Fudpuckers) and then go to the BIG Fish Store (Bass Pro Shops)

Then we came home and Jerry and I snuck out and got the big present that DJ has asked and asked for, for about 6 months or so.





Then I came in and finished his cake for tomorrow


After dinner we had our "family" cake.




And last but not least we went on a walk through the neighborhood, walking about 2 miles. :)

I am going to hide in a corner now. I just got two phone calls in a row saying that both schools I have interviewed at have hired other teachers. I really thought the interview I had on Monday went well, and that I had a good chance at the job. I guess I really am just a big looser . I am amazed at how hard this is hitting me, I am sitting here crying over it.

Ok enough feeling sorry for myself.
A picture of DJ from T-ball yesterday (we actually were into it yesterday) I think the key is getting him started as soon as we get to the field, which I did on my own yesterday, didnt even wait for the coach, I used DJ's bat and balls and got him and all three of the others that were there started while we waited.

Yesterday was DJ's second T-ball game. He was not very impressed. We are watching the Braves/Cardinals game right now in hopes to inspire him.

Then today I felt the need to get a new outfit for my interview tomorrow (please keep your fingers crossed for me!) so I called Jerry to see if he wanted to meet in Foley AL at the outlet mall there because it is about half way between here and Biloxi. We actually met in Loxley at the produce market and drove the rest of the way to Foley together. While in Foley we went to Lambert's Cafe

and had lunch. DJ and the girls got a kick out of the throwed rolls.

Today the kids and I went down to the Destin Commons for thier free kids movie day at the Rave. We saw Open Season and had popcorn and fun. Then we went and had some lunch at Johnny Rockets, and let DJ play at the playground. It was a lot of fun for the kids.

My friend Kate gave me the cute idea to have DJ make his own ABC book, cuting out pictures and words and then gluing them into a book. I took it one step further and ordered pictures from the past several months that fit the different letters. DJ got bored after the letter B, but I finished glueing on the pictures and the foamy letters so that we don't loose them before we have the chance to sit down with the scissors and glue again. I am pretty proud of how they came out so far, and DJ gets a kick already out of looking at the pictures and saying the letter and who the picture is of.
