Jerry update V and please go vote for Renee!

I just got home from the hospital from visiting Jerry.

They are moving him to the step down unit tonight, but he will be there at least another day or two.

The other night when he went to the ER his hemoglobin counts were 9.2.

They then gave him 2 units of blood, which should have brought his counts up to about normal.

This morning his counts were at an 8.6, and an 8.7.

Not cool.

So they are going to keep checking his counts every 12 hours or so (I swear they are going to have to start taking the blood from his leg, because the ER nurse blew three veins on Saturday night and his left arm is looking like he is a drug user.)

The nurse said that tomorrow they will probably do a colonoscopy to see if they can figure out where he is bleeding from.

Now on to something fun. My blogger friend Renee from Life with my Special K's was nominated for the Military Motherhood Award. Please go vote for her! The rules of the contest were:
Could your favorite military mom use some recognition and $5,000 in
cash?

Operation Homefront and CincHouse.com have launched an essay contest,
open through March 31, for their inaugural Military Motherhood Award.
You can nominate your spouse, friend or yourself, describing why your nominee deserves the Military Motherhood Award.

Eligible are active-duty, National Guard and reserve moms; the spouses
of active or reserve component troops; mothers of service members, and
others. Nominees might have children, stepchildren, foster children, or
have other unique circumstances.

"This is a celebration of motherhood, and there aren't any hard and fast
rules about what constitutes an amazing mother," said Meredith Leyva,
founder of Operation Homefront and CinCHouse.com.

The winning mom will receive $5,000 cash and will be flown to Washington
for an awards ceremony May 8.

Please go vote for Renee!!!

Thank you SO much!!! :) I am glad Jerry is doing well enough to go to a stepdown unit. I hope they can get his counts up though! You'd think 2 bags of blood would do it!! Please keep us posted on him, we're still praying!
