Unfortunately these were rolling in as we got there, and they were turning new arrivals away and getting everyone else out of the field.
Yes that is what it looks like, it never touched down, but it was pretty dang close. 
I really wish we could have been able to go to the festival and picked sunflowers. Hopefully next year!
