Just my luck.... NASCAR

I just had a really cool phone call, but it made me sad at the same time!

A while ago (like long enough ago, that I can't even remember when it was, I just know I did it) I registered to win tickets to Pocono Raceway for the NASCAR races on August 5th and 6th, from Hunt Brothers Pizza Racing - Kevin Harvick Inc. - Elliott Sadler.

Then I promptly forgot all about it, because really, what were the chances that I would win?

While I was in Florida I had a phone call from a nice couple getting married on August 6th in Macon, who's photographer backed out and could I take their wedding pictures? Of course I said yes.

Plus Kelsey and my parents will be here that week for Kelsey to get her belongings that she wants to have in California for school.

Still no big deal.

Skip forward to less than 10 minutes ago.

I had a phone call from a number I didn't know but I answered it anyway.

Caller: "Patricia?"

Me (thinking either they are selling something, or trying to collect money): "sigh, yes."

Caller: "Did you sign up for a contest from Hunt Brother's Pizza for a chance to win tickets to Pocono Raceway for the Sprint Cup and Trucks races in August?"

Me (thinking, NO WAY!): "Yes, ma'am."

Caller: "Well great news! You won tickets for August 5th and 6th! Are you able to attend?"

Me (about to cry): "I am so sorry, I have been asked to photograph a wedding that weekend, so I can't go!"

Caller: "Oh it's ok! Thank you anyway!"

Now how, I thought I would get to Pennsylvania anyway is beyond me, but still! :-)

I have had this amazing summer, as far as winning things goes, I mean really, I won the chance to watch the shuttle launch, I won 4-2 day passes to Universal Orlando (still have to plan that trip), and now this. (Why not the lottery? Oh yeah I probably have to play more than I do, which is once a month, on a whim)

I am hoping that the Karma fairies look favorably on me for being honest with the nice lady from Hunt Brothers, and not taking the tickets then turning around and trying to sell them or something crazy like that! Because I know there are plenty of people out there in this world that do it, and they do it every day! So Karma Fairies, or NASCAR officials, if you are out there reading this, how about you help a girl out and get her some nice tickets to a race weekend she can attend? (hint hint, Atlanta, Bristol, Dega... wink wink)
